Day 1 - Arrival in Bratislava
Flight either to Vienna airport or Bratislava airport. Meeting with the driver and guide and transfer to Bratislava city center. Start of panorama tour of Bratislava, when you will discover the Slavin Monument with beautiful view on Bratislava, monumental Bratislava Castle with its baroque gardens and continue to Presidential palace and the last photo stop at Blue Church. Check in at the hotel and continue by walking part of the tour thru Bratislava Old Town with its main highlight, such as: St. Martin’s Cathedral, Reduta Bulding, Opera House, Main Square, Primate’s Palace, St. Michale’s Gate, Palace of Hungarian Royal Chamber and many more. Overnight in Bratislava.
Day 2, Devin Castle & Red Stone Castle
Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the one of the oldest buildings of Slovakia, the Devin Castle, located on frontier of three countries, Slovakia, Austria and Czech republic. Also Devin castle is located in confluence of two rivers Moravia & mighty Danube. Devin castle was blown up by Napoleon army in 18th century, but now its remains are well preserved. In the time of communism, the Devin Castle was a frontier of Iron Curtain.
Departure to Small Carpathian Wine Route, one of 8 wine growing regions of the Slovakia and the most famous one. Visiting the beautiful, romantic Red Stone Castle located in the woods. Visit of this marvellous castle with the vast cellars. Continue to small wine towns Modra & Pezinok. Wine dinner with wine tasting in a local wine cellar. Return to the hotel. Overnight in Bratislava.
Day 3, Bratislava - Nitra - Bojnice - Zilina
Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Check out from the hotel and drive to the oldest Slovakian town Nitra. Visit the historical upper town, full of the churches & clergy buildings. Entrance to Nitra Castle with beautiful baroque St. Emeram Cathedral. Continue to SPA Town Bojnice, where is located the most beautiful castle of Slovakia, “the Cinderela Castle” – Bojnice. Entrance to the castle. Thru “ginger bread village” Cicmany full of wooden houses with white ornaments continue to pilgrimage site Rajecka Lesna, where we will visit the Slovakian Wooden Betlehem. Continue to the center of North- West Slovakia Zilina, visit of exteriors of Budatin castle with beautiful park, located on confluence of two rivers, the longest Slovakian river Vah and the local river Kysuca. Walking tour of Zilina and overnight in Zilina.
Day 4, Zilina - Orava Castle - Demanovska Cave of Liberty - Vlkolinec
Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Departure towards the most authentic region of Slovakia, which is called Orava. In Orava region is located one of the most preserved castles of Slovakia – the Orava Castle. Also known as a “Dracula Castle”, as a movie Dracula from Nossferatu was filmed here. Visit of this monumental castle.
Slovakia is not rich only in castles, but also in caves. Visit one of the most beautiful caves of Slovakia, the Demanovska Cave of Liberty, located in Low Tatras. After the lunch break continue to Vlkolinec, the small mountain wooden village which is listed in UNESCO World Heritage List. Evening return to Zilina, and overnight.
Day 5, Zilina - Bytca - Trencin - Beckov - Bratislava
Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Last day of discovering Slovakian castles. Check out from the hotel and departure towards Bytca, small town located close to Zilina, where is located beautiful wedding chateau of conde Popper. Continue to Trencin, visit of historical city center with the oldest written notice in Slovakia from 4th century from roman army of Marcus Aurelius. Visit of monumental Trencin castle with beautiful view from castle tower. Continue to Beckov castle, located on the rock above the village Beckov, now guarding the highway between Bratislava – Zilina. Continue to Bratislava, farewell dinner and overnight.
Day 6, Departure from Bratislava
Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the airport. Flight back home. End of discovering the Slovakian castles.
